Monday, September 1st, 2014 (15:29) | Gijs Cigarettes
The Galaxy Alpha is the first smartphone with support for 4G + (or LTE -Advanced) in the Netherlands, as Samsung has announced. The faster variant of 4G, which offers significantly higher download and upload is still available, hardly places in the Netherlands for KPN and Vodafone have already started rolling out its own 4G + network. T-Mobile allows LTE-A as yet for what it is, but uses a lot of bandwidth in the 1800MHz band. Therefore, the provider can theoretical speeds of around 150Mbps achieved.
In theory supports the Galaxy Alpha download speeds of 300Mbps, which is considerably faster than the download speed of 75Mbps, allowing for even most providers now. This, too, concerns a theoretical download speed of the device type, your location (inside or outside) and the traffic on the network are all factors that affect the 4G speed

Opinion 5 ways the Samsung Galaxy S6 indeed is successful – Android Planet
We wrote about it earlier: earnings from Samsung were poor in 2014, partly because of the disappointing sales of the Galaxy S5. Can the Samsung Galaxy S6 turn the tide for the smartphonetak of the company?
Samsung makes it difficult
Samsung recorded over the past year lowest profit in three years, which on the one hand is due to the success of Apple and smartphone makers in China and in part to the disappointing sales of the Galaxy S5. That device eventually sold 40 percent less than expected, causing the share of smartphonetak profit of Samsung surged down. The South Korean company made although still large profit (19 billion euros in 2014), but sees competition from companies such as Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi increase considerably.
In 2015, Samsung cuts whatsoever in the portfolio smartphones that deliver business. For the Galaxy S6, which is expected to announced in early March, has little effect. Yet there will be some things need to be changed, Samsung wants to prevent the S6 same fate as its predecessor.
So the Galaxy S6 can be successfully
1. Sharper price
LG has demonstrated with the introduction of the LG G3 that high- end smartphones not necessarily very expensive need to be and phone makers as OnePlus and Huawei booked last year success with affordable flagships which offer great value for their money.
We would like to see that Samsung does something to the price of the Galaxy S6. The S5 took in appearance as much as 699 euros and now has a price of around 500 euros. And while the smartphone converted 217 euros it costs to produce. Come on Samsung, there may still be something of which recommended price
2 Premium appearance
This area for improvement is in Following on from the previous one. Despite that the Galaxy S5 has a hefty price tag, he feels not particularly expensive or premium to. This is mainly due to the plastic housing and the back cover with the corny well motif. Have the advantage compared to eg a HTC One M8 is that the housing is waterproof and the battery can be changed.
But an extension of 600 or 700 euros we expect more. Rumors are that the Galaxy finally S6 is equipped with a metal housing, although that is still far from certain. The same was expected because of the Galaxy S5. Metal would be able to ensure that the unit is a more premium look that is distinctive in comparison with the plastic phones from China. Anyway we want some design concerns something different: the last three Galaxy S phones have indeed looked almost identical
3.. Less useless additions
Samsung should stop adding useless gimmicks
The Galaxy S5 is bursting additions, including a fingerprint scanner, a heart rate monitor and countless Samsung apps that you would not normally find in Android. That there are many features, appears from the settings menu where as many as 60 (!) Options can be found. Many of the apps and additions, however, are not very useful and ensure that only the 16GB of storage such 8,7GB remains available. In addition, we find the heart rate monitor does not really accurate and makes the fingerprint scanner is difficult to unlock with one hand the device.
We hope Samsung focus more Galaxy S6 on things that are really important to the user and the number of amusing, but useless additions to a minimum. Consider the quality of the camera, longer battery life and a more user friendly interface; that are parts that certainly still room for improvement.
4. More Lollipop, less TouchWiz
It seems happy that Samsung Galaxy S6 has caught the focus again, as the manufacturer may TouchWiz shell lying on Android, will simplify. TouchWiz must become more like stock Android, with unnecessary features are removed and improved the main features of Android. Samsung would be the interface of the Nexus 6 (stock Android 5.0) taking as a starting point and that is what we are concerned only good news.
In recent years, TouchWiz often criticized because the skin Android would make slower . Moreover, the colorful design can only enchant few users. We find it too busy and cluttered and that is especially for novice users a great disadvantage.
5. Better battery life
The battery life of Samsung smartphones has already improved significantly in 2014, which is mainly due to the additional saving power mode. This offers especially for devices with AMOLED screens advantages, since not only redundant processes are stopped, but the screen switches to grayscale.
This year, the manufacturer may be our opinion still improve on, for example, by implementing a larger battery, optimize the software and improve energy-saving capabilities. Indeed, it is still waiting for the first Android smartphone that even with heavy use for more than a half day life.
Do you think the Samsung Galaxy S6 is successful? Leave it in the comments to know why!
