Here are Samsungs plans for future KitKat updates

If youre wondering about when your Samsung device might receive Android 4.4.2, 4.4.3 or 4.4.4, we just might have the answer for you. First, lets take a look at a pair of high profile phones that Samsung will be releasing soon. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is a metal clad handset that is the manufacturers challenger to the Apple iPhone 6. This model is expected to launch shortly and come out of the box with Android 4.4.4 pre-installed. The eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which will be unveiled on Wednesday, should be released with Android 4.4.3 running the show.
What if you own the Samsung Galaxy S5? Australian operator Optus says that the Android 4.4.4 update for the flagship model has already been approved, and the carrier could be pushing out the update any day now. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, the model released in Europe with the 1080 x 1920 resolution screen, is also said to be closing in on the update to Android 4.4.4.
Closer to the states, Canadian carrier Rogers is now rolling out Android 4.4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy S4and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Other models soon to receive Android 4.4.3 from Rogers include theSamsung Galaxy Mega, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. The U.S. carrier updates for these same devices should follow Rogers schedule, except that you need to consider the long testing periods that U.S. carriers are known for.
As for Android 4.4.2, here are the different versions that will be receiving the update. Samsung Galaxy S4: Baltic [LTE], France [LTE], Netherlands [VE], New Zealand [LTE-A], Saudi Arabia [LTE], South Korea [Active], United Arab Emirates [LTE],United Kingdom [LTE]; Samsung Galaxy Tab 4: Argentina [8.0 Wi-Fi], Baltic [10.1 4G], Brazil [8.0 Wi-Fi], France [8.0 LTE,10.1 4G], Germany [10.1 4G], Hong Kong [10.1 Wi-Fi], Italy [10.1 4G], Mexico [8.0 Wi-Fi], Panama [8.0 Wi-Fi], Peru [8.0 Wi-Fi], Trinidad and Tobago [8.0 Wi-Fi];Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Argentina [Neo], Hong Kong [LTE], New Zealand [LTE], Portugal [LTE], Russia, Ukraine; Samsung Galaxy Note II: Italy, Portugal [LTE], Slovenia.
If you do receive these updates OTA, remember to wait for a Wi-Fi connection before downloading and installing them, and keep your battery at least 50% charged before starting the process.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition starts receiving Android 4 4 KitKat update

Google and Samsung have finally released the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, soon after the HTC One Google Play Edition received the update on Monday.The search engine giant announced the news via its official Android Google+page and said, "Starting today, Samsung GS4 and HTC One Google Play edition devices are getting an update to Android 4.4!"
After detailing Android 4.4 KitKat along with the Nexus 5 launch, Google had promised that the update would land on Google Play editions of Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One in the coming weeks and it seems the company has indeed kept its promise.
The Android 4.4 KitKat iteration brings some new features such as the translucent menu bar, which is located at the bottom of the screen; new dialler and caller ID; unified Hangouts messaging app; smarter Google Now integration; step counter and detector, and support for screen recording.
Smartphone manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola and Sony have already revealed plans for the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade. HTC was one of the first handset manufacturers who announced the Android 4.4 KitKat rollout plans for its flagship smartphone, the HTC One. The company confirmed that Android 4.4 KitKat update for HTC One for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) countries would commence by the end of January 2014.

Adcom Thunder A440 With Android 4 4 KitKat Launched at Rs 3 499

Adcom announced its first Android 4.4 KitKat smartphone in India, the Thunder A440+, priced at Rs. 3,499. The smartphone is yet to be listed on the companys website, but will be available in markets from Saturday.
The Adcom Thunder A440+ features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (unspecified) alongside 512MB of RAM.
The budget smartphone sports a 3-megapixel rear camera, while it also houses a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Thunder A440+ includes 4GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Thunder A440+ is 8.8mm thin and weighs 135 grams. The handset packs an 1350mAh battery. The smartphone comes with 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB connectivity options. It will be available in Black, White, Pink, and Yellow colour variants.
"Adcom is pleased to announce its first Android KitKat 4.4 smartphone. With the launch of our newbie we have once again extended the bar of affordability with Thunder A440+ being the fiercest smartphone under the 5K Category. It boasts of all the advanced features, giving buyers a delightful experience," stated Sanjeev Bhatia, Director, Adcom.
Notably, the Adcom Thunder A440+ is the second entry-level smartphone from the company that comes with 3G connectivity. In July, Adcom launched the Thunder A430+ budget smartphone at Rs. 3,399. Some of the key features of the Thunder A430+ are Android 4.2 Jelly Bean; 4-inch WVGA 480x800 pixels; 1.2GHz dual-core processor; 512MB of RAM; 3.2-megapixel rear camera; 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera; 4GB of inbuilt storage; 32GB via microSD card, and 2000mAh battery. Apart from 3G connectivity, the smartphone comes with GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB connectivity options.
