Ive been on a big ska kick lately so heres some of the stuff Ive been listening to!
Lets start with Deals Gone Bad. First time I ever heard them in 2006 (right after this LP came out), they played in a tiny venue in Evansville, IN. I thought they were really cool. So much soul! They played with Mustard Plug and a few other pretty well-known ska bands. They stood out to me though, more people should listen to them. Check this shit out.

I honestly first heard The Slackers on the Give Em The Boot compilations. Again, a lot of soul elements, which is common with traditional ska. Ive included their first album (1996) along with some of their more recent stuff. Its all very good. One of my favorite bands to ever come out of Hellcat Records.

If you like The Slackers I also recommend Westbound Train. Good lyrics and good rhythms. Similar to The Slackers but a little more chill, little more reggae.
